Contribution guidelines

Anyone can add a word. These rules exist so the result stays a reference work rather than a wall.

What belongs here

Profanity, oaths, curses, blasphemy, insults and the euphemisms people reach for instead. Regional and dated forms are welcome; mark them as such.

Write from real usage. If you have only heard a word in subtitles, say so in the notes rather than inventing a register for it.

What does not

Slurs whose purpose is to attack people for their ethnicity, religion, disability, gender or sexuality are out of scope. This is a limit on what we document, not a claim that such words do not exist.

No doxxing, no naming private individuals, no using an entry to insult someone specific.

Rating and reporting

Rate the entry, not the word: a five-star rating means the explanation is accurate and useful, however foul the term is.

Anything that breaks these rules can be reported, and a moderator sees it before it reaches readers.
